Senior officers from Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) paid a courtesy call to the High Commissioner in Pretoria while on an official trip to South Africa. Dr. L. W. Wamae, Ms B. Kiplagat, Dr. R. Rumberia and Dr. J. W. Wachira came for further discussions with respect to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KARI Veterinary Vaccines Production Centre (VVPC) and Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. of South Africa among other things. The team was hosted by Dr. A. T. Kgasi, Business Development Manager : Export of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. and co-ordinated by the Agricultural Attache' at the Kenya High Commission, Mr. A. Ombachi. Both parties are manufacturers and distributors of various veterinary vaccines and products, and are willing to distribute and sell within their territories on behalf of each other. Further both Institutions are desirous of promoting collaboration and exchange of expertise in the fields of livestock animal health and vaccine improvement, management and other related fields. The two organizations agreed to have the MoU completed and signed by both parties before end of March 2007.
