- South African Passport Holders do not require visa into Kenya for period less than one month (30 days)
- Passport Holders of the following countries ALSO DO NOT REQUIRE visa into Kenya: Botswana, Brunei, Burundi, Cyprus, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Samozo, San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tobago, Tonga, Trinidad, Turkey, Uganda, Uruguay, Zambia, Zimbabwe
- Passport holders of the following countries AND ALL stateless persons i.e. persons holding travel documents issued by either the Department of Home Affairs of the Republic of South Africa or the United Nations require referral visas: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Nigeria, North Korea, Senegal, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan
- Referral and Multiple entry visa are processed from Nairobi and it takes approximately 6 weeks to know the outcome.
- Nationals of countries not listed in either of the two categories require a visa which takes 24hrs to process (or can be obtained on arrival at the point of entry at a cost of US $50 (fifty only).

Requirements for
Kenyan Passport Holders

| A Passport Expiring after 10 years or about to be filled up |
- Fully filled PP1 Form
- Self explanatory letter requesting for a new passport

- 4 passport size photographs
- Copies of current passport (from page 28 to the last)
- Processing period for a new passport is approximately 6-8 weeks

| A Child under the age of 16 yrs |
- Fully filled PP2 Form
- Letter requesting for a new passport from the parents
- R450
- 4 passport size photographs
- Copy of foreign or Kenyan Birth Certificate. If Kenyan, then photocopy both front and back.
- Copy of the parents Marriage Certificate
- Copies of both parents' passports (the last 3 pages and the page where the child was endorsed)
- Processing period for a new passport is approximately 6-8 weeks

- Self explanatory Letter from the applicant requesting for Police Clearance
- Certified copy of Kenyan ID (both sides) / birth certificate if less than 18yrs
- Certified copies of passports:
- For non-Kenyan citizens, submit certified copies of Passport bearing Kenya entry information pages of endorsement visas.
- State where and the period you stayed in Kenya
- Processing period is approximately 6-8 weeks.
