Mr. Tom Amolo, Kenya’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa launched the forthcoming Kenya Trade Fair and Conference at the FORUM in Bryanston on Wednesday 25th June 2008. He also hosted a cocktail function organized by the High Commission.

The launch is intended to create awareness of the Kenya Trade Fair and Conference to be held from 19th to 21st September 2008, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. We seek to inform the South African business fraternity about this seminal event, solicit their buy-in and support.

The Kenya Trade Fair and Conference 2008 idea was born from the need to significantly increase trade between Kenya and South Africa and tap the huge unexploited potential between the two countries.

The Fair will, we trust, aid in restoring the image of Kenya as a viable investment destination – a positioning well publicized during the World Economic Forum in Cape Town earlier.

This initiative of the Kenya High Commission in South Africa and Maridadi Investments, a Kenyan Diaspora Initiative, is meant to ramp up the provision of business linkages, creation of networking opportunities and exposure of Kenyan products in the South African market.

In anticipation of the 2010 World Cup, we seek to accrue maximum economic benefit for Kenyan and South African businesses alike during this historic sporting event.
