Dr. Ogembo Kachienga’ is a Professor of Technological Entrepreneurship and Consulting Business Engineer at the Graduate School of Technology Management, University of Pretoria. He holds degrees in both engineering and finance from the University of Cape Town. He is an expert in technology-business interface with focus on emerging nations; and frequent contributor to popular engineering and financial magazines and journals.


Johannesburg Kenya Airways Station Manager - Patrick Mulei Honoured

Mr. Patrick Mulei, the Kenya Airways Station Manager, Johannesburg scooped the top prize for his outstanding perfomance. Sixty five members of Kenya Airways were recognized for their outstanding perfomances over the past year.

The top 10 Gold Award was presented for consistency, with receipients having been complimented more than once on their exceptional service.

More Gold & Silver for Kenya again!

Kenyan policewomen, Vivian Cheruiyot and Sylvia Kibet, last night arrested Ethiopia’s dominance in distance running at the world championships here, bagging gold and silver on a good day of harvest that started off with Administration Police officer Abel Kirui striking the marathon gold and team-mate Emmanuel Mutai taking silver.

Kenyans Bag Gold & Silver

Kenya’s new world marathon champion, Abel Kirui, says hewill now run a world record two hours, three minutes and 30 seconds next year, as he had planned earlier, after recovering from his golden run at the world championships on Saturday.

Kenya Scoops Gold in 3000m Steeplechase (Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany)

Ezekiel Kemboi won the world 3,000 metres steeplechase race at the Berlin Olympic Stadium last night after an impressive sprint.

It was a 1-2 finish for Kenya with Olympic bronze medallist Richard Mateelong bagging the silver while Paul Kipsiele Koech was piped to the bonze medal as France, for the second time in as many years, denied Kenya a steeplechase sweep at a major championship.

Kenya, South Africa in Tourism Pact (Nairobi, Kenya)

The Kenyan and South African governments have entered into a partnership that will see the two countries collaborate in the promotion of the tourism sector.

Tourism Minister Najib Balala on Tuesday signed a bilateral agreement with his visiting South African counterpart Marthinus Van Schalkwyk that will enable the two countries cooperate in strategic areas like sharing data and increasing investments in the sector.

Gold for Kenya in Women 10,000m (Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany) 15th Aug 2009

Linet Masai of Kenya took the gold in the women 10,000 metres followed by a bronze for her brother Moses in the same distance.

Kenya firms seek to cross-list in South African bourse 14th Aug 2009

Consultations are going on that will see companies listed at the Nairobi Stock Exchange cross-list at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). JSE business development manager in charge of African desk Geoff Musekiwa said the negotiations with various stock markets in Africa, including the NSE aim at allowing companies with a market capitalisation of at least Rands 500 million (Sh5 billion) to list at the biggest stock market in Africa.
